Laying Down the Law Between the Ropes...

Although our Midget Wrestling Warriors referees are enforcing the rules with some of the smallest professional athletes on the planet, it's no easy task.  The mayhem and chaos that our Warriors create in each match takes a referee who is always on his toes and who can keep our Warriors in line...especially when it comes to the likes of notorious rulebreakers like Rob the Giant and Demus.

From a very young age, MWW Referee Brad Lee has been fascinated with the world of professional wrestling and takes his role as the main rule enforcer in the MWW ring very seriously.

"Pro wrestling has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad is a huge fan of the sport and he took me to dozens of shows as a kid. We would watch WCW, WWF, and ECW together, and we even went to local shows. Growing up, I fell in love with the sport and knew that I wanted to be a part of it. However, instead of becoming a wrestler, I decided to train as a referee. My inspiration for this was Charles Robinson, who I idolized as a child."

Those are big shoes to fill and Brad knew that he was up to the task.

"I have been training as a referee for two years now. I started my training at the Oregon Pro Wrestling School with Ricky Gibson, Eddie Pearl, and Malcom Phlox. These trainers are all veterans of the Midnight Heat, and I am grateful for the knowledge and experience that they have shared with me. My first show as a referee was with SOS Pro Wrestling, and it was the promotion's very first live show. The first match was a singles match, and although I was scared and nervous, it went really well.

Since then, my experiences as a referee have been incredible. I have had the privilege of working in 12 states and for 21 different promotions all over the nation."

Being a referee in professional wrestling and for the Midget Wrestling Warriors, in particular, can be quite challenging.  Especially with our Warriors being such a diverse group of stars from all over the globe.

"One of the most challenging aspects of my job has been dealing with language barriers, as I have had to work with people who do not speak English. However, this has also been a great opportunity for me to learn other languages and improve my communication skills."

Although very early in his refereeing career, Brad is very proud of his accomplishments thus far and is looking forward to many more milestones in the years and decades to come.

"My biggest accomplishment so far in my career has been the ability to travel and work all over the country so quickly. I have been fortunate enough to do things that many people may never get to do, and for that, I am incredibly grateful. I have also been blessed with amazing coaches who have helped me so much along the way."

"Before a show, I like to get in the ring and roll around, making sure that everything is in order before the talent gets in there. Safety is always my top priority. My dream match would be anything with Sandman, and I handle the pressure by just having fun. I love this sport, so I just try to enjoy every moment of it."

Brad stays busy both inside and outside of the ring.  He feels a need to always be bettering himself and aspiring and working toward bigger and bigger goals in his refereeing career.

"When I am on the road, I try to keep in shape by working out at Planet Fitness or in the gym at my hotel. So far, I have been lucky enough to avoid any injuries in the business, knock on wood. I am also a general manager of a local pizza shop and own a recording studio. Additionally, I own my own promotion, Timber Pro Wrestling in Everett, Washington with fellow Midget Wrestling Warriors star Kikyo and three other close friends."

Being a wrestling referee and travelling constantly for wrestling shows  can be a very hectic grind.

Brad enjoys that grind and welcomes every opportunity to step into the ring and lay down the law between the ropes, however, he also enjoys his time outside of the ring recharging his batteries and taking time to work on his other passions in life.  He tries to find a good balance between work and play and it seems to be working very well for him.

"In my downtime, I enjoy spending time in the studio. Both wrestling and music are my top interests, and I love being able to combine them. I am excited to see where my career as a referee takes me, and I am looking forward to the many adventures that lie ahead. Being a professional wrestling referee has been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a unique and exciting industry."

Brad is thrilled to be a part of the Midget Wrestling Warriors team and he is looking forward to keeping our stars in line and laying down three counts across the country and around the world.
